There are no Qantas service fees charged by the airlines to get a refund after the cancellation process.

WHEN the ticket refund is not in the Australian Dollar (AUD)

The refund is processed at its original exchange rate when the ticket was issued and not the exchange rate application on the date of the refund amount is submitted. It happens when the original payment of the ticket has been made in a currency other than Australian Dollars.

Once the GDS Automated Refund Application is submitted

The process is as follows:

  • The refund process will proceed within 15 business days.
  • The process can be tracked through links or through consolidators.
  • The status will be displayed as R.
  • It cannot be used later down as another ticket.
